Safety and Compliance Specialist - Occupational Health
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to management teams and corporate reporting systems.
- Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.
- Available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
Requirements:
- Completed a tertiary qualification (undergraduate or postgraduate) in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) within the last 24 months.
- Interest in or previous experience in safety-related employment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, especially around health and safety needs.
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
