About this role

This position plays a critical part in ensuring patients are clinically and administratively prepared for upcoming procedures.

Conducting comprehensive preoperative assessments, identifying potential risks, and coordinating necessary investigations to optimise patient safety and surgical outcomes is key to this position.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including clinical and non-clinical staff and managers, visiting specialists and Allied Health professionals, the Preadmissions Nurse provides education, support, and reassurance to patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed and confident about their care journey.

This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified Registered Nurse with preadmissions experience to contribute to our Preadmissions team on a casual basis.

We prioritise providing exceptional care to our patients, their families, and the community, focusing on safety and wellbeing, and investing in continuous learning and professional growth.

Clinically and administratively preparing patients for procedures requires a strong focus on coordination and communication.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and identify potential risks to patient safety and surgical outcomes.
  • Coordinate necessary investigations and prepare patients for procedures in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide education, support, and reassurance to patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed about their care journey.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff and managers, visiting specialists and Allied Health professionals to optimise patient experience.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with preadmissions experience.
