Expert Forensic Analyst

Forensic Accounting & Advisory Services undertake a wide range of complex commercial disputes and litigation support engagements.
This role involves supervising and executing client engagements, with responsibility for conducting accounting and financial analysis. Visibility across the whole engagement allows appreciation of how each aspect comes together to deliver a high-quality final product.
You will develop strong knowledge of the legal process, especially with regard to litigation and providing expert opinions. Analytical, accounting and finance skills are essential. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting financial analysis using Microsoft Excel and other tools to solve problems
- Reviewing information received and identifying further information required to complete the analysis
- Analysing and interpreting large volumes of information, including accounting, financial and banking records
- Reviewing financial statements for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Undertaking research into companies and industries using Capital IQ and other data sources
- Preparing expert reports, client reports and presentations that detail project scope, methodology and findings
- Interacting and meeting with clients, including lawyers, in-house counsel and senior accounting personnel
- Developing project planning and management skills
- Supervising the work of junior staff and providing coaching to junior team members
You will contribute to company initiatives and team development activities, assist senior team members with new business development activities, undertake networking and marketing activities to develop professional contacts, and participate in regular industry-based training sessions to enhance your professional development.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines, and completed or working towards an Australian or internationally recognised professional accounting qualification. 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, including experience such as forensic accounting, business valuations, auditing and/or management accounting is required. Strong understanding of and interest in forensic accounting is essential, as well as proficiency in both written and spoken English.
