About the Role

Catholic Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support and Safeguarding Specialist to join our Practice, Risk and Quality team on a 12-month contract. As a Behaviour Support and Safeguarding Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing specialist advice and support to operational teams working with residents/clients who demonstrate behaviours of concern.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the development and review of behaviour support practice frameworks, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislations and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Support operational teams to proactively identify behaviours of concern and develop effective Behavioural Support Plans.
  • Attend sites to meet and directly assess and consult with residents/clients, providing expert advice and guidance in line with safeguarding principles to reduce risk.
  • Facilitate and develop knowledge and skills of employees in positive approaches to Behaviour Support, ensuring a culture of safety and respect.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the NDIS Commission and guide operations in the timely management and lodgement of mandatory reports.
Requirements
  • Completion of relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Support, or similar.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in a similar position in Aged Care/NDIS, preferably.
  • Strong understanding of current and changing legislations (Aged Care Act/NDIS) related to Behaviour Support and Safeguarding.
  • Ability to develop effective Behavioural Support Plans and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office) with a good understanding of reporting and data analytics.
