
Compassionate Bereavement Counsellor

We are seeking a compassionate and innovative counsellor to join our multidisciplinary community palliative care team.
This role requires a person with a strong ability to provide emotional support through active listening and effective communication. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor degree, graduate diploma or masters in counselling or social work, with minimum 2 years clinical experience in bereavement.
The successful applicant will be able to adapt and problem solve, demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions for patients and their families
- Develop and implement bereavement programs for patients and families
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans as needed
- Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree, graduate diploma or masters in counselling or social work
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in bereavement
- Demonstrated ability to provide emotional support through active listening and effective communication
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- NSW Drivers Licence
