Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to transport livestock and other agricultural products across multiple farm sites, ensuring safe and efficient delivery. This role involves operating heavy vehicles, managing loading/unloading procedures, and adhering to transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate and maneuver livestock trucks, ensuring proper positioning for stress-free loading and unloading of cattle, sheep, and other livestock.
  • Coordinate with farm staff to ensure livestock are loaded efficiently, with attention to breed-specific requirements.
  • Operate hydraulic lifts, ramps, and livestock crates to safely load/unload animals, ensuring smooth transitions to avoid injuries.
  • Monitor livestock behavior during loading/unloading, adjusting techniques to maintain calm and prevent agitation.
  • Adhere to biosecurity measures by cleaning and disinfecting trailers between loads to prevent disease spread.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience in truck driving.
  • Relevant licensing and qualification.
  • Proven ability to operate heavy vehicles safely, perform load checks, and follow transport compliance standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a farming team.
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and attention to detail.
