Job Title: Master Meat Craftsman

Location: Pendle Hill and Picton, NSW

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Butcher/Smallgoods Maker to join our team at Global Skilled Employment Services. As a key member of our operation, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the butchery & smallgoods production, from inventory ordering to training staff and managing costs.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role that requires strong communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will lead a diverse team of qualified butchers and process workers, maintaining a tight control on all aspects of product quality and operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce high-quality fresh meat products in accordance with company guidelines and timeframes.
  • Prepares meat for sale by removing bones, trimming fat, cutting, mincing, and grinding meat to shape and size for display or as ordered.
  • Select and prepare meat to produce smallgoods.
  • Operate machines to grind, mix, mince, and tenderise meat.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the Meat Department.
  • Abide by company policies and procedures in relation to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Food Safety to ensure a safe working environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of using processing equipment to manufacture butchery products.
  • Knowledge of cutting and portioning meats.
  • Knowledge of pumping brine for bellies, knuckles, hams, and cured products.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • To maintain a high level of hygiene.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.

Salary Package:

The salary package for this role is approximately $73,150 per annum (plus superannuation). This comprehensive package includes a range of benefits and opportunities for career growth and development.
