Job Title: Consultant Anaesthetist

About the Opportunity:

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to lead anaesthetic services across our region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in anaesthesia, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-impact care while leading innovation, education, and excellence in anaesthetic services.
  • Contribute clinical expertise to complex cases, support safe and effective care delivery, and shape the future of anaesthesia through teaching, mentoring, and collaborative practice.
  • Drive innovation through involvement in clinical audits, quality improvement, research, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
  • Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in anaesthetics.
  • Experience in quality improvement activities.
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with national standards.
  • Proven experience in basic computing skills.
