About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Officer to join our Fire and Emergency Management Policy Branch in the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA). As part of our Emergency Management Strategic Planning team, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and implementing key priority actions to enhance DEECA's emergency management capability and capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective policy solutions to support emergency management in Victoria.
  • Provide high-level policy advice to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve policy objectives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including emergency management agencies and community groups.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in public policy, business, emergency management, environmental management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation, with a focus on emergency management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
