Human resources is a crucial function in any organization, and the role of an APS4 HR Officer is to provide expert advice on establishment management. This involves providing accurate, timely, and consistent guidance on matters related to establishment and position variation requests, onboarding and exiting of personnel, and maintenance of records.

This position requires a high level of autonomy, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a business or administration background, preferably with a Human Resources qualification. Previous experience in position management and/or SAP would be beneficial, but not essential. Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance and national police check is also required.

The APS4 HR Officer will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of establishment-related processes. They will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on establishment management
  • Coordinate workflow associated with queries received via the Establishment Management mailbox
  • Identify and implement ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of establishment-related processes
  • Manage Agency records, including establishment and position variation requests, onboarding and exiting of personnel in SAP, and maintenance of registers
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on operational and administrative matters

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance and national police check
  • Business, administration, or Human Resources qualification desirable
  • Previous experience in position management and/or SAP beneficial
