Job Title: Music Instructor

The role of music instructor involves teaching music lessons to students in a group setting and private settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that cater to individual students' needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Develop and maintain a positive rapport with students and families.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet the requirements of the Melodic Minds Methodology and Program Framework.
  • Ensure the workspace is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Support students in progressing through their musical journey and preparing for performances.
  • Build a sense of community among students, families, and team members.

Requirements:

  • Current Working with Children check.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident, or student visa with at least 2 years before expiry.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Passion for working with children.
  • Experience working with children - doesn't have to be teaching music.
  • Vocal knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to teach group classes in a calm and relaxed manner.
  • Trustworthy and takes child safety seriously.
  • Great communicator of musical concepts in an easy-to-understand way for children.
  • Consistently reliable and punctual.
  • Excellent building of rapport with students and parents.
  • Adaptable to different learning styles.
  • Confident working with children with varying conditions such as ADHD and Autism.
  • Strong classroom management skills and tools to manage groups of 5 students aged 6 and up.
  • Patient and playful approach to teaching.
  • Great organisation and time management skills.
  • Able to complete administration such as daily lesson notes, marking attendance and lesson planning.
