Substation Technician

Transgrid is seeking a skilled Substation Technician to join our team. As a Substation Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of substation assets.

• Perform tasks related to the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of substation assets.
• Work with high voltage network assets and have experience as an electrician or equivalent.
• Undertake a comprehensive training program to gather practical and technical expertise in substation electrical work.
• Deliver all elements of tasks as required to meet customer expectations.

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent Electrical Trades Course Certificate.
• Experience in the maintenance, construction, and commissioning relevant to high voltage substations.
• A current Australian Driver's License.
• Good oral and written presentation skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
• Prepared to work away from their nominated headquarters for a reasonable period.
• Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Willing to be included in a 'on call' roster to provide after-hours standby services and respond to system incidents.
• Familiarity and experience with "Wiring Rules" and other Australian Standards.
