We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diversional Therapist to join our team at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT. As a key member of our Leisure and Lifestyle team, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing a holistic leisure program that meets the needs and preferences of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a resident-focused leisure program
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized leisure and recreational programs for residents
- Support the Management Team in maintaining oversight of the leisure and lifestyle staff and service provision
- Provide direct oversight and support to lifestyle staff to ensure high-quality services
- Facilitate and coordinate a dynamic, resident-driven leisure program that enhances the psychological, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural well-being of residents
- Provide mentorship and leadership to staff in relation to meeting resident needs, wants, and preferences
- Actively involve residents and stakeholders in the development of leisure and lifestyle services and programs
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Southern Cross Care's Risk Management and Quality Standards
- At least three years of demonstrated experience as a Diversional Therapist
- Experience working with people with mental illness and/or dementia
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of older people
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate skills with computers and electronic record-keeping software
- Ability to set and maintain high standards in the provision of quality care and support services
- Experience in leading and supporting a team
- Level 1 Diploma or Associate Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
