About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Recreational/Diversional Therapist to join our team at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT. As a key member of our Leisure and Lifestyle team, you will play a vital role in creating a holistic and engaging environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement a resident-focused leisure program that promotes psychological, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing.
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate individualized leisure and recreational programs for residents, ensuring their needs, wants, and preferences are met.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to lifestyle staff, ensuring high-quality services that meet resident needs.
  • Facilitate and coordinate a dynamic leisure program that supports and enhances resident wellbeing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Southern Cross Care's Risk Management and Quality Standards.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience as a Diversional Therapist.
  • Experience working with people with mental illness and/or dementia.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of older people.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills with computers and electronic record-keeping software.
