Job Opportunity: R&D Chemist

Fuse Recruitment is partnering with a leading national organization in the complementary medicine space to source a skilled R&D Chemist.

About the Role

As an R&D Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth introduction of new products to the factory, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the head of R&D, clients, and suppliers to develop new products, formulate products according to quality and efficacy expectations, and conduct general product and stress testing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with clients and suppliers regarding product development projects
  • Formulating products in accordance with company quality and efficacy expectations
  • Producing bench samples in the laboratory according to GLP
  • Conducting general product and stress testing to ensure formulation robustness and efficacy claims compliance
  • Reporting writing for justifications and supporting evidence for new product development projects
  • Research-based project management to ensure projects meet their required timelines
  • Communicating the status of new product development to Business Managers and Project Managers
  • Developing and maintaining Master Formulas for all products that are manufactured within the company
  • Collating the documentation data set from raw material suppliers for all new materials to be qualified into the approved list
  • Providing technical information to project managers, business managers, quality assurance, and other staff in the planning and purchasing departments if required
  • Writing and conducting process validation protocols and reports when required
  • Conducting risk assessment analysis for formulation-impacted changes
  • Initiating change controls and deviations when required
  • Coordinating with QC regarding stability studies and assisting in internal and external audits
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • A solid foundation in chemistry, science, or chemical engineering
  • Excellent lab practices, regulatory compliance, and record-keeping
  • In-depth knowledge of TGA and GMP regulations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to be hands-on when required
