About Our Apprenticeship Program

At Transgrid, we are seeking motivated individuals to join our exciting apprenticeship program for 2026. Our high voltage transmission network connects more than 3.5 million homes and businesses across New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) to deliver safe and reliable electricity.

We are looking for goal-oriented, committed, and agile apprentices who enjoy problem-solving and working as part of a team. As an apprentice with Transgrid, you will have access to a competitive starting salary package with 15.5% superannuation, work alongside bright and incredibly curious teams, and be supported by mentors, buddies, and managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on significant infrastructure projects that will shape the future of the energy industry in Australia
  • Develop technical capability in a variety of specialist areas
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to deliver safe and reliable electricity
  • Participate in structured training and development programs
  • Contribute to innovative solutions to complex problems

Requirements

  • Completed high school studies (minimum year 10 or equivalent) by the end of 2025
  • Sound mathematics and communication skills
  • A genuine interest in a trade working within a high voltage electricity transmission network
  • A current driver's licence prior to starting the program or be willing to obtain one as soon as possible after appointment
  • Environmentally and socially responsible
  • A team player, motivated, and willing to learn
  • Able to think laterally and provide input to innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Able to work well with others
  • A clear communicator
  • Appreciative and sensitive of difference and diversity
  • An Australian permanent resident or an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • Ability to travel and work away from home at various locations when required
