Senior Nurse Leader Role

The Senior Nurse Leader is responsible for overseeing the overall management of our facility outside of business hours.

This includes operational leadership of patient access and care coordination, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Emergency Treatment Performance (ETP) and Transfer of Care (TOC).

The successful candidate will manage all significant events outside of business hours in consultation with the nominated executive rostered on-call.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic direction for after-hours operations
  • Monitoring and reporting on KPI targets
  • Managing after-hours events in collaboration with the on-call executive
  • Overseeing skill mix and staffing for after-hours coverage
  • Collaborating with the Patient Flow Co-Coordinator to contribute to nurse-led strategy and practice improvement

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Recognised tertiary management qualifications or actively pursuing them
  • Experience applying change management principles with measurable outcomes
  • Recent broad clinical, operational and strategic experience at a senior level within a complex healthcare environment
  • Strong verbal, written, and negotiation skills

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse leader who can provide strong leadership and management competencies, with the ability to motivate and lead staff to achieve service and professional goals.

They will also have a sound knowledge of current clinical practice and models of care.
