Job Title:

Heavy Plant Operator

This is a permanent full-time position in civil construction, specialising in asphalt production and placement throughout Australia.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre-start checks prior to operating the excavator.
  • Operate earthmoving plant for road maintenance projects.
  • Utilise plant controls/remotes to move, spread and compact material for road projects.
  • Maintain accurate levels using hydraulic screed systems.
  • FOLLOW specified drawings and plans.
  • Ensure machinery is well-maintained by performing routine servicing, cleaning and lubrication tasks.
  • Assist with other civil duties including general labouring when required.
Requirements:
  • Hold a current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Possess a valid Drivers Licence C Class.
  • Hold certificates and tickets for earth moving machinery.
Desirable Skills:
  • Demonstrate technical ability to perform job effectively.
  • Show physical capability for manual labour.
  • Be able to work collaboratively as a team member.
  • Show willingness to learn and improve.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
  • Show ability to cope with challenging working conditions (e.g. noise, heat, dust).
  • Be willing to work extended hours if necessary.
