The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the finance team by taking ownership of compliance and financial reporting tasks, streamlining month-end close processes, and supporting strategic finance initiatives.

This position is designed to alleviate the workload of the Finance Manager, enhance efficiency, and empower the finance team to serve as a business partner across departments. The role will also involve implementing process improvements and automation to drive efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of annual financial statements for the consolidated group
  • Assist with requests from external auditors
  • Reviewing all aspects of tax (GST, Income Tax, Payroll Tax) and other compliance reporting
  • Business partnering and Process Improvement
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Cash flow management
  • Governance, Risk Management & Internal Controls

Requirements

  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting, preferably in a commercial finance environment at a senior level
  • Experience with ERP systems is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a proactive mindset
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
