Job Summary:
Island Health is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician to provide part-time services at the Coastal Sage Health Centre (CSHC). The successful candidate will work closely with other physician groups to provide comprehensive care to patients with substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care to patients with substance use disorders, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring
- Collaborate with in-house psychiatrist and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Provide routine follow-up care, including physical exams, medication management, and monitoring of chronic medical conditions
- Consult with patients on contraception, STI diagnosis and treatment, and gender-affirming care
- Liaise with hospital, maternity ward, and community addiction clinics to ensure continuity of care and discharge planning
- Be on-call for pharmacy OAT prescriptions and have a methadone license
Requirements:
- CCFPISAM or CCFP with CAA in AM, Maternity care, and Addiction Medicine experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
