Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join our Fleet Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in Emergency Response Vehicles, ensuring they meet industry standards.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. As an Ambulance Fleet Automotive Electrician, you will work closely with our mechanics, subcontract repairers, and Communications Engineering teams to diagnose and repair electrical faults, test electrical systems, and fit accessories to Emergency Response Vehicles.

You will also contribute to the commissioning and decommissioning of fleet vehicles, ensuring proper electrical systems are in place. Additionally, you will maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, SAAS, and Fleet Services policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in Emergency Response Vehicles, including lighting, instrumentation, ignition, fuel injection, and cooling systems.
  • Design and install electrical systems for fitting multiple electrical accessories to Emergency Response Vehicles.
  • Assist SAAS mechanics, subcontract repairers, and Communications Engineering teams in diagnosing electrical faults, testing electrical systems, and fitting accessories to Emergency Response Vehicles.
  • Contribute to the commissioning and decommissioning of fleet vehicles, ensuring proper electrical systems are in place.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and general workshop.
