Role OverviewThis rewarding opportunity is available in various locations across Western Australia: Joondalup, Shenton Park, Midland, and Fremantle. As an Autism Therapist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality services to individuals with Autism and their families.
You will have the chance to implement specialist programs, lead therapy groups, and work collaboratively with colleagues to create tailored support plans.
Key Responsibilities- Consultation and Education: Provide expert guidance to families and stakeholders on supporting individuals with Autism, promoting inclusion and participation in various settings.
- Specialist Programs: Implement evidence-based programs, such as Hanen Parent Coaching, social communication, mealtimes, and Positive Behaviour Support Programs.
- Therapy Services: Deliver family-centred services, visiting clients' homes, schools, and community settings, and leading specialist therapy groups across different age ranges and skill areas.
- Assessments: Conduct specialist assessments for Augmentative and Alternative Communication or Functional Capacity, depending on your area of expertise.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a field related to Autism, such as Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology.
- Membership or registration with the appropriate professional body.
- A client-centered approach and excellent communication skills.
- Desirable: Experience working with children and/or adults with disability and their families.
- An estimated salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- A comprehensive range of resources, therapy tools, and assessments.
- Support from experienced colleagues and access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
