Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will work with clients from targeted care packages, general home-based care and therapeutic home-based care programs.

Your key responsibilities will include direct casework with children, their families and carers, case management responsibilities, facilitating contact between children and their families, liaising with external agencies and professionals, participating in staff meetings, participating in regular supervision with Team Leader and attending Professional Development opportunities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective case management plans that meet the needs of clients and their families.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, families and other stakeholders.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients and their families.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, welfare or related discipline.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including children and families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
