Job Description:

As a spiritual care professional, you will play a vital role in shaping the provision of care for residents, families, and staff at our organization. Your expertise will ensure that diverse spiritual needs are identified and responded to with sensitivity, compassion, knowledge, and skill.

This position is part of an integrated team working within an established framework to support residents to live their best lives. You will be responsible for identifying and responding to the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families, and staff.

The position requires providing spiritual care support to residents according to triage priorities. As needed, you will also provide spiritual care support to family members and staff. Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders is essential.

We welcome experienced practitioners as well as early career professionals or those looking to start their career in pastoral care who wish to apply for a supervised role. Support to complete clinical pastoral care training is available for supervised practitioners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual care support to residents according to triage priorities
  • Support family members and staff as required
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders

Requirements:

A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counseling, or a similar field such as Clinical Pastoral Education is required. Recent experience working in aged care, healthcare, or community care is preferred. Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership, and facilitation of meaningful rituals are necessary. Eligibility for SCA certified membership is a must.
