About the Role

We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join our in-house legal team at BDO. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal and strategic advice to our business colleagues, working closely with the General Counsel, Head of Legal, and the legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on and drafting commercial and client contracts, including external terms and BDO terms.
  • Providing ad hoc legal advice across the firm, including employment law, litigation, and regulatory matters.
  • Assisting with legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, including reviewing policies and procedures.
  • Supporting special projects and initiatives across the firm, including the development of legal knowledge resources and streamlining work processes in the legal team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws and admitted to practice in an Australian State or Territory.
  • Minimum 4 years PQE.
  • Demonstrated commercial and corporate experience, with a strong understanding of employment law, litigation, and regulatory matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Agile and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex legal matters.
