Technical Advisor Position Available

About the Role

This position is available for an experienced Technical Advisor to support configuration management activities within a leading Defence program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical guidance and assistance for Configuration Management (CM) activities across Defence acquisition and sustainment projects.
  • Develop and implement CM plans, processes, and tools in line with Defence standards.
  • Maintain Configuration Items (CIs), support configuration status accounting, and facilitate Change Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Ensure traceability of documentation and data across system lifecycles.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and government representatives to maintain compliance and support system assurance objectives.
  • Support engineering reviews, audits, and certification processes with accurate CM records and artefacts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CM systems and documentation practices.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a technical advisory role within the Defence industry is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Systems Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Configuration Management practices, including tools such as Teamcenter, Windchill, or IBM Rational.
  • Strong understanding of Defence acquisition frameworks, especially within the CASG/One Defence Capability System environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system design documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and structured documentation capabilities.
