About the Role:

We are seeking to establish a pool of experienced, passionate and caring Endorsed Clinical Midwives to join our team providing evidence-based and high-quality patient care as autonomous practitioners. The role involves working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

This new model of care is a pioneering initiative within the Western Australia public sector, aimed at providing excellence in continuity of care from pregnancy through to birth by the same midwife for each woman.

The service will operate a Midwifery Birth Centre (MBC) for women within our catchment area, offering a unique and personalized approach to maternity care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care as autonomous practitioners, prioritizing safety and well-being.
  • Prescribe medications required for midwifery practice across pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal care.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care for patients.
Requirements:
  • Current Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) registration as a Registered Midwife with 'Endorsement' to prescribe medications.
  • Proven experience in midwifery practice, particularly in areas related to obstetrics and neonatal care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
