Strategic Infrastructure Leader

We are seeking a visionary leader to oversee critical services that keep our community connected, safe, and thriving.

This pivotal role offers the chance to lead one of the most impactful directorates, overseeing civil works, water and sewerage, asset management, roads, bridges, facilities, stormwater, and emergency management.

As Strategic Infrastructure Leader, you will provide strategic leadership and innovation across infrastructure delivery, guiding the development of sustainable services that directly improve the lives of residents.

  • Provide high-level advice on infrastructure and asset management matters
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality civil works, maintenance, and capital projects
  • Oversee strategic planning, financial management, and contract administration within the Directorate
  • Foster strong community and stakeholder relationships, ensuring transparency, safety, and collaboration
  • Drive continuous improvement, compliance, and innovation across infrastructure delivery
About this Role

Requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field, with significant leadership experience
  • Extensive expertise in civil engineering, including water, sewerage, roads, and asset management
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi-million-dollar budgets
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a record of building positive partnerships
  • A leadership style that inspires excellence, collaboration, and accountability
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and public service values
  • Experience in local government, state public sector, emergency management, project management, GIS, or postgraduate qualifications in engineering/management
