Job Description

Serve as a security expert responsible for designing, building, and configuring web application firewalls (WAF) to protect critical internal and customer-facing web applications.

This high-impact opportunity allows you to shape a new function within the security engineering group, contributing to the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, engineering, and technical support of WAF platforms.
  • Define and configure security controls and policies to protect web applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various teams and external vendors to align on technical and business objectives.
  • Develop test applications and assist application owners with troubleshooting.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, configuration, and implementation of WAF solutions.
  • Evaluate WAF products and contribute to technology roadmaps and standards.
  • Drive operational readiness and lifecycle management of WAF platforms.
  • Provide engineering consulting and contribute to incident response planning with Cyber Security teams.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and technical lead for WAF within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications

You are a seasoned security engineer with:

  • 5-10 years' extensive experience in successfully deploying WAF security and configured security policies for protecting different web and other applications.
  • A strong background in web application development and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various back-end languages like Python, Java, or Ruby.
  • Nice-to-have skills: SQL or MongoDB, RESTful APIs, and JSON.
  • A solid foundation and experience with deploying and configuring network infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5).
  • A solid understanding of network routing and switching protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, SSL, HTTP, etc.).
  • A proven ability to work independently and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience collaborating in large enterprise environments and cross-functional teams.
  • A mindset geared towards innovation, simplification, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor others.
