Job Overview

As an ETF middle-office associate, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the ETF trade lifecycle, including end-of-day profit and loss calculations. This involves:

  • Reconciling positions, cash, and trade activity prior to market open.
  • Verifying front office estimates against broker reporting.
  • Analyzing various accruals, such as interest, internal capital charges, borrow expenses, brokerage fees, and rebates.
  • Managing fund transfers across brokers, including cross-border transfers for restricted currency.
  • Understanding and cross-checking Prime Broker Margin & OTC Collateral policies/models.
  • Coordinating the life cycle of ETF creations and redemptions.
  • Serving as a liaison between operations, traders, and internal departments, as well as brokers.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of experience in profit and loss reporting within financial markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of ETF lifecycles, handling trade flow through to settlement.
  • Familiarity with equity swaps and futures.
  • Experience translating foreign profit and loss into base currency.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Detailed-oriented ability to prioritize tasks based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and with broker contacts.
  • Reliability and flexibility as a team player.
  • Mandarin written and spoken proficiency is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and Python is highly regarded.
