Job Summary

As a Warehouse Associate at Costco Wholesale, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service to our members, while also maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular building safety and security checks, including walking the building and perimeter.
  • Correct any safety and security issues that you encounter, such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits.
  • Fill out reports and share the results with the duty manager.
  • Attend warehouse safety meetings to stay informed and up-to-date on safety procedures.
  • Welcoming members entering the warehouse, approaching, smiling, making eye contact, and greeting them.
  • Verifying membership cards, offering carts (removing rubbish if necessary) to all members.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the entrance and exit areas.
  • Using a handheld counter to track members entering and exiting the warehouse.
  • Reporting half-hourly counts to the Front End Supervisor and recording counts on weekly reports.
  • Monitoring building access and reporting the arrival of armored transport vehicles to the duty manager.
  • Discreetly observing armored deposit pickups, jewelry, and register drawer setups and pickups while holding a panic button.
  • Checking backpacks, lunch pails, briefcases, strollers, etc. at exit.
  • Greeting exiting members.
  • Verifying the accuracy and validity of members' receipts and comparing them to merchandise.
  • Providing speedy assistance for any member corrections or concerns.
  • Defacing receipts with a hole puncher.
  • Providing and arranging prompt and courteous member service.
  • Directing members to product and service locations.
  • Enlisting assistance for loading, shopping, etc.
  • Drying off wet carts.
  • Watching the after-hours exit door discreetly from a private vehicle and reporting the door area status by 2-way radio before doors can be opened for employees.
  • Driving the building perimeter for security checks.
  • Watching closing managers leave.
  • Reporting suspicious activity to the duty manager and calling policy if necessary.

Requirements
  • Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
  • Counter, personal vehicle, trolley.

Qualifications
  • Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current driver's license.
  • Experience/Skills: Customer service, sales, loss prevention/security, or comparable experience. Data entry and data management.
