Job Details

A Machine Operator position has become available at our Thomastown facility.

The day shift operator will be responsible for inspecting bricks as they pass by, removing rejects/seconds, and placing second-class products on the seconds carousel.

Key tasks include operating multiple machines, fault finding, and performing quality control checks as part of their routine.

The successful applicant will also report any unsafe conditions, machinery issues, or near misses to management, wear proper PPE, and follow lock out/tag out and confined space procedures.

Responsibilities will include keeping the area clean, disposing of waste properly, inspecting bricks for defects, and sorting accordingly. Reporting colour variations to the leading hand is also essential.

Covering breaks for other operators when needed and assisting with cleaning during breakdowns are important aspects of this role.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm (with casual OT on some Saturdays) + willingness to work additional overtime hours as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong work ethic and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Experience in a production or similar role is desirable.
  • Commitment to safety awareness.
  • Ability to learn and absorb new information and skills.
  • Capacity to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • A current forklift license will be advantageous.
