Customs Clearance Specialist

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Customs Clearance Specialist to join our dynamic team. As the primary point of contact for all customs-related matters, you'll ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit customs documentation, including import/export declarations, tariff classifications, and duty calculations.
- Liaise with government agencies, freight forwarders, and ocean carriers to facilitate the clearance of goods in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on customs procedures, regulations, and requirements.
- Monitor changes in customs legislation and policies, implementing necessary updates to internal processes and procedures.
- Resolve customs-related issues and discrepancies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to find effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of customs activities and transactions, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.
About You:
- Accreditation as a Licensed Customs Broker is essential.
- Proven experience in customs clearance and compliance within the retail or logistics industry.
- Sound knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex customs documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant customs software and systems (Cargowise preferred).
