Senior Legal Adviser Role Summary:

This Senior Legal Adviser position offers the opportunity to provide legal support and guidance to investigations, inspections, and other regulatory activities conducted under the Work Health and Safety Act.

As a Senior Legal Adviser, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and support to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Providing advice and guidance on evidence gathering, issuing statutory notices, and investigation procedures
  • Assisting with the preparation of briefs of evidence and working closely with prosecution teams
  • Facilitating continuous improvement projects and identifying trends and opportunities for growth

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

For this position, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory
  • Current restricted practicing Certificate or ability to obtain one within three months

Experience in providing investigation support and conducting prosecutions in a criminal law or regulatory environment is highly regarded.

  • Employee Health Declaration
  • Six months probationary period for new engagements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance
