About the Project:
">This sanctuary is a non-profit organization located in the cloud-forest of Tutamoe Peak in Northland, New Zealand. The area is home to the endangered kiwi bird and the rare giant kauri snail.
">The project operates on sustainable principles and is totally off-grid, with most structures and tools recycled from other projects.
">Your Responsibilities:

- Cutting and marking tracks">
- Installing, refilling, and monitoring bait stations">
- Monitoring kiwi, kokako, and rodents">
- Monitoring bats, lizards, and freshwater fish">
- Entering data">
- Weeding and planting the herb garden">
- Building and landscaping">
- Chopping wood">
- And other related conservation activities">
A Typical Day:
">Your day will start with breakfast at 8 am, followed by clean-up and morning work activities until 12 pm. Lunch will be served from 12 pm to 1 pm, after which you will engage in afternoon work activities until 4 pm. You will have free time from 4 pm to 6 pm, followed by dinner from 6 pm to 8 pm. In the evenings, you can relax or participate in leisure activities such as sunset watching.
">Please note that Mondays are usually free days for relaxation or visiting the town. Once a week, you may join a night safari to look for kiwis in the forest.
">We recommend being adaptable to weather conditions, as they may affect daily activities. There will also be opportunities to explore the surrounding areas.
