Job Description

Our team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Service Specialist to provide exceptional technical support and services to our clients.

  1. Provide phone-based technical assistance to technicians and customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and accurate part selection for service jobs. Liaise with the parts department and customers regarding part availability and coordinate with national service managers to allocate work to technicians as needed.
  2. Respond promptly to field breakdowns by repairing cranes in a timely manner, coordinating product updates and service bulletins to maintain equipment safety and reliability.
  3. Maintain accurate service reports and submit them upon completion of repairs, adhering to deadlines.
  4. Communicate effectively with factories and COEs regarding repair processes and diagnostic information, providing valuable feedback on component failure to manufacturers.
  5. Organize new machine pre-delivery inspections and operator familiarization, collaborating with the sales department and customer to ensure all necessary items are provided and scope of work is completed within agreed timeframes.
  6. Train distributors on the commissioning of new products, analyzing and troubleshooting warranty problems when beyond the scope of distributors or customers.
  7. Interact with MCG-based personnel on matters related to service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance.
  8. Plan and coordinate activities to investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems, utilizing applicable processes to prevent future operational or service difficulties.
  9. Analyze reports of technical problems to identify trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, recommending modifications to eliminate future problems.
Required Skills and Qualifications\

Applicants should possess:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with 5 years or more of experience in technical service and support roles, preferably in the crane industry or heavy equipment sector.
  2. OEM or dealer experience in heavy equipment/Crane background is advantageous.
  3. Specialist training in the crane industry or on Manitowoc Cranes is advantageous.
  4. A trade certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical trades, with strong skills in automotive and Canbus electrical diagnostics.
  5. Fault finding and diagnostic skills in Electrical, hydraulic, engine, drive-line, braking, and general maintenance and repairs in Heavy equipment or LBCC and Mobile Cranes.
  6. The ability to read and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics.
