Job Title: Manager Engineering Operations

Jetstar is seeking an experienced aviation professional to join our team as Manager Engineering Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing engineering operations in the day-of-ops environment to support the successful delivery of Jetstar's flying schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage engineering operations in the day-of-ops environment with a focus on schedule integrity and disruption management.
  • Act as the key engineering management representative providing dynamic leadership within the Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) and the Jetstar Operations Control Centre (JOCC).
  • Manage planned and unplanned maintenance, balancing commercial, customer, and operational impacts associated with disruption.
  • Act as the operational engineering point of contact and escalation point for activities within engineering.
  • Provide operational leadership and management to those within the Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC).
  • Manage a team responsible for ensuring effective communication flow between those within and external to engineering.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in an aviation operations or engineering environment.
  • Passion and experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring a team of direct reports.
  • Aviation industry experience essential.
  • A desire for continuous improvement and passion for aviation.
  • Ability to demonstrate a thick skin in dealing with difficult situations while thriving in a fast-paced, constantly changing operational environment.
  • Strength in problem-solving and decision-making, including the ability to consider operation, customer, cost, people, and engineering impacts when proposing solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid internal and external stakeholder management skills.
