We are seeking a dedicated Literacy Specialist to drive improvement in Literacy education and support schools in delivering outstanding learning outcomes for all students. This pivotal role focuses on building the capacity of teachers and school leaders in Catholic schools across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide leadership and strategic direction to teachers and school leaders in Literacy education.
  • To build the capacity of teachers and school leaders through professional development and coaching.
  • To develop and implement effective Literacy programs that meet the needs of all students.
  • To analyze data and identify areas for improvement in Literacy education.
  • To work collaboratively with school leaders and teachers to develop and implement strategies to improve Literacy outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Education or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of effective pedagogical practices in Literacy, with the capacity to model and support evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Recent and relevant school-based experience, showcasing a strong track record of leading and improving Literacy teaching and learning.
  • Expertise in current Literacy issues, initiatives, and research, with the ability to translate theory into impactful classroom practice.
  • Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying data to inform Literacy instruction and school improvement.
  • Highly developed organisational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
