Job Title: Senior Science Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Science Manager to lead and support teams delivering innovative science to support Queensland’s natural assets.

This permanent position is based in Brisbane and offers opportunities to contribute to projects focusing on water quality monitoring, analysis, and reporting, QA/QC and cutting-edge research.

You will work with a diverse team across the Catchment Water Quality Alliance to deliver scientific outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist scientific leadership and advice in support of ongoing development and operations of load-based water quality monitoring and assessment programs.
  • Negotiate projects with industry, collaborators, and clients to attract external funding and achieve project outcomes.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Manage highly qualified and innovative work teams and individuals within the Water Quality & Investigations group.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, ecology or biology.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to provide technical and scientific information and advice to management, other government agencies, policy makers, industry, the community, and other clients.
