Weather Content Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for presenting weather news and content in a engaging manner that captures the audience's attention. You will present information accurately and timely, working closely with meteorologists to ensure that you are communicating complex weather forecasts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Present live and recorded weather content on various channels.
• Produce and present segments that are accurate, relevant, and engaging.
• Collaborate with meteorologists to ensure effective communication of weather forecasts.
• Respond to breaking and severe weather events, as well as other urgent newsroom situations.
• Report in the field during major weather events, requiring adaptability and quick thinking.
• Pitch news coverage of weather events and stories, utilizing your skills in research and writing.
• Work collaboratively with a team to get content on air, including writing scripts, editing vision, and sourcing guests.
• Prepare openers and teases, showcasing your creativity and attention to detail.
• Write copy for digital platforms, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different mediums.

For this role, we require:

• At least two years of experience as a television presenter.
• The ability to receive and assess information from meteorologists and communicate it effectively to the audience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently on-air.
• The ability to write and produce content for on-air use, showcasing creativity and technical skills.
• The ability to report in the field in both live and non-live situations, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
• Developed time management skills, the ability to multitask, and work to strict deadlines.
• A willingness to learn complex scientific processes in a short training period.
• The ability to work independently within a broader team environment, showcasing self-motivation and collaboration skills.
