The role of Legal Counsel is to provide legal advice and assistance on a broad range of areas, guiding and informing our organization's legal responsibilities, compliance and decision making. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-starting legal professional to join our team and apply their expertise for good.
As a member of our Legal, Governance and Strategy team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high standard legal services, including commercial contracting, privacy, employment, corporate governance and risk management. You will also ensure our organization's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards and codes of conduct.
This is a challenging role that will expose you to a breadth of legal, compliance and governance issues and provide opportunities to develop your legal expertise in a supportive team environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have had 1-2 years post admission experience in a respected firm or in-house setting. You must be confident and personable, able to thrive in a team environment and successfully engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
You should also have excellent communication and drafting skills, including the ability to write in a clear and engaging manner.
**About Us**Our organization delivers recovery-focused programs to consumers with serious mental illnesses across the justice system, mental health sector, and the community. We deliver these services through three streams - inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services and prison-based services at several locations across the State.
