Chief Microservices Architect

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Chief Microservices Architect to join Milestone It. This pivotal role requires an expert in designing microservices architectures with a focus on API management using Apigee.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective microservices architectures.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable microservices solutions utilizing best practices
  • Championing the use of Apigee as the primary platform for API management, ensuring efficient and secure access to internal and external APIs
  • Defining API design principles, governance models, and strategies to ensure consistent and reliable API consumption
  • Integrating microservices with existing systems and infrastructure using APIs and event-driven architectures
  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing the performance and scalability of the microservices environment

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect with a strong understanding of microservices principles, design patterns, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • In-depth knowledge of API management concepts and extensive experience with Apigee platform configuration, policies, and security
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a strong understanding of API integration best practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively bridge the gap between business and technical teams

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $120,000 - $180,000 based on national averages in the United States.
