Corporate Governance Specialist

The Corporate Governance Specialist will provide professional support to the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Managing Director, ELT members, and Board Chairs, ensuring the accurate maintenance of Board and ELT records, coordinating communication, preparing meeting papers, and overseeing registers. This role also involves monitoring corporate governance requirements, compliance policies, and legislative changes to contribute to governance framework documents and annual reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate maintenance of Board and ELT records, coordinate communication, prepare meeting papers, and oversee registers.
- Monitor and stay updated on corporate governance requirements, compliance policies, and legislative changes.
- Provide governance training and assistance to employees and contribute to a culture of high performance and respect.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and communicate clearly and regularly to ensure consistent understanding of Board requirements and good governance.
- Oversee the freedom of information and privacy functions, providing strategic advice across the organisation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a company/board secretariat or governance role, preferably in the government context.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional communications skills with proven previous experience in managing Board communications and correspondence.
- Demonstrated experience with MS Suite and Diligent.
