We are Civica, a software company that helps deliver critical services for citizens worldwide. Our solutions support over 5,000 public bodies across the globe, serving more than 100 million citizens.

As we continue to scale globally, following our recent acquisition by Blackstone, we seek an expert-level Cloud Platform Architect to shape and set standards for our platform and DevOps offerings. You will be one of our go-to experts in advising on DevOps concepts and practices, contributing to best-in-class processes by demonstrating knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, KANBAN, and Lean.

You will join a newly formed team as a self-starter, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Civica's cloud-based platform and developing our internal developer platform, an exciting project from scratch. Collaboration with other business units is essential, focusing on building platform capabilities to deliver best practices. Alongside mentoring teams, you will improve older tech stacks and platforms using modern approaches, influencing company-wide architecture.

To succeed in this role:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure using Terraform
  • Deploy infrastructure stacks for Platform-related services as they are developed, utilizing Terraform and Ansible
  • Aid in developing and deploying new features and improvements to the Kubernetes cluster, covering services in the Azure cloud and AWS
  • Demonstrate knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Bring expertise in securing code pipelines and CI/CD with GitHub
  • Familiarize yourself with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, scripting & automation, Linux administration
  • Demonstrate best-in-class development and implementation of monitoring, networking, and security
  • Implement your knowledge and prior experience in designing cutting-edge Developer Experience and Cloud SaaS Platforms
  • Have a solid understanding of Windows administration, migrating VM-based architectures to cloud-native, and at least one DevOps-friendly programming language like Python or Go is highly desirable
