About the Role

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2025.

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for undertaking policy research and analysis to support the development of advice to the Government on major planning legislation and regulation reforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of complex and innovative legislative reform options.
  • Prepare authoritative advice for Ministers and the Department's executive management on complex and emerging legislative issues.
  • Draft high quality written documents including project plans, briefs, policy papers and cabinet submissions.
  • Initiate and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, executives and stakeholders to support the development and delivery of legislative changes.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to deliver business unit, group and DTP priorities and initiatives.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in urban planning, public policy, law or a related discipline.
