Job Description

A civil estimator plays a key role in the success of construction projects. The senior civil estimator will work closely with project managers and teams to ensure accurate cost estimates are prepared and submitted for approval.

The estimator will review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to identify potential risks and opportunities within project scopes.

In addition to preparing cost estimates, the estimator will engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and build strong relationships.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates for civil and commercial projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies in line with market conditions
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and build strong relationships
  • Identify risks and opportunities within project scopes
  • Work closely with the project and management teams to support successful project delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience as a Civil Estimator, ideally at a senior level

Strong knowledge of civil and commercial construction projects within South Australia

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Proficiency in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

A collaborative mindset and ability to work within a high-performing team
