Technical Leadership Role

The ideal candidate will be a senior technical expert who can shape the technical direction of our team and lead complex data engineering projects. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, test and deploy scalable data architectures and APIs.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building reliable, performant and scalable data applications and pipelines. They will also have developed skills in modern data engineering techniques such as data modelling, data pipelines, data streaming, data consumption etc.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical aspects of projects, initiatives or slices from pre-discovery stage to production
  • Designing and implementing complex data architectures and APIs using a variety of technologies and platforms
  • Mentoring less experienced technical team members and helping them grow individually
  • Continually assessing and improving the health of our system guided by REA's system health rating methodology
  • Working in a collaborative environment with other developers, business analysts, quality analysts, product managers & product designers

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience working in data engineering
  • Proven track record in building reliable, performant and scalable data applications and pipelines
  • Skills in modern data engineering techniques such as data modelling, data pipelines, data streaming, data consumption etc.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Typescript and Scala
  • Strong understanding of data architectures, API development, distributed event-driven systems architectures, and cloud offerings
