About Our Housing Support Role

This position involves working directly with clients who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness due to insecure public and community housing across Southern Metropolitan Melbourne.

We are seeking a candidate who can provide case management that includes assessment, referral, provision of resources, and advocacy where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop individual plans for support
  • To coordinate services and resources to assist clients in achieving their goals
  • To advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are respected
  • To work collaboratively with other agencies and service providers to achieve positive outcomes for clients

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Social Housing or similar qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal history and/or culture and commitment to the Aboriginal community
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues associated with Homelessness and their effects on the Aboriginal Community
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-skilled team
  • Skills in working independently, generally within defined guidelines, and as a team member
  • Able to develop positive relationships with clients and work within a stressful environment
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication and self-management skills
