Role Overview

Located at our facility in Athol Park, the Health & Safety Manager will play a crucial role in providing guidance, expertise, and leadership aimed at safeguarding the Opal workforce and the communities we serve. The focus will be on minimizing the likelihood of safety incidents (both injury-related and non-injury-related) and mitigating risks associated with financial loss, reputational harm, and regulatory compliance.

Your contributions to Opal's success will include:

  • Assisting in the creation and execution of the 'One Opal' Health and Safety Management framework along with associated business standards.
  • Offering direct support to management and staff regarding injury prevention and the Opal safety management framework.
  • Overseeing the implementation of the Opal certification process in accordance with ISO45001 and any necessary regulatory licensing for Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Facilitating the involvement of Health & Safety Representatives and committees to ensure compliance with worker consultation obligations.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in report generation.
  • The ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and pressure.
