Key Highlights
  • $123,000 - $145,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Fixed-term contract until June 2026 (with potential for ongoing permanent role)
  • Opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art Integrative Oncology Unit and Wellness Centre at Alfred Cancer

The successful candidate will provide patient-centered supportive care to cancer patients as a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized therapy plans that enhance patients' daily functioning and quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' needs and design therapeutic interventions to manage physical, emotional, cognitive, and occupational challenges
  • Develop and implement holistic care plans that promote self-care practices and integrate complementary therapies
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families about adaptive strategies and coping mechanisms
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or recognized equivalent
  • Full registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and proven experience in oncology/cancer care or a similar healthcare setting
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A compassionate approach to care, with a deep understanding of the challenges cancer patients face
